Updating psp via usb
The Play Station®TV system is sold as Play Station®Vita TV system in some countries and regions.
Systems with either name are referred to as “Play Station®TV” or "PS TV" on this page.
PBP in the folder PSP/GAME/UPDATE - it is important the the folder names are ALL CAPITAL LETTERS.

There are a few different ways to get the download data to your PSP via a PC, but once you figure them out, it's not too difficult.
If you just want to run official software and games, though, updating is the best choice.

An update to the system software for Play Station®Vita systems and Play Station®TV systems was released on November 28, 2017.
Use this update to install system software version 3.67.
